Take charge of your life
Will you and your loved ones live the way you’d like to right up to the end of your life? How can you control where you’ll be living, what you’ll be able to do, how independent you’ll be, and what medical care you’ll want or won’t want as you near the end of your life?
Join in a lively discussion with Dr. Steve Cook and the Empowered Patients group at the Community Center, Meadow Mall, Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. Many of those participating in the discussion will have read Atul Gawande’s book, "Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End." But you’re welcome to come and join in the discussion without having read the book.
The Empowered Patients Group meets monthly at the Community Center to become better educated about our own health and how we can participate fully in our own health and care, through collaboration with our healthcare providers, good preventive care and being informed consumers of health services.
