Many in our community may have noticed the absence of the annual Student Art Show this year at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation. We understand that this event is a cherished tradition, showcasing the talent and creativity of the region's young artists. The omission was not due to a lack of support or interest for our local student body. 

 

This spring the gallery is reorganizing after the retirement of our devoted gallery manager of 24 years, June Rose. As the foundation was adjusting to June's departure, a car drove into the entrance of the gallery on April 11, forcing the gallery to close until we reopen on June 7, thus making it impossible to hold the Student Art Show. 

 

This was a disappointment to all involved but we want to emphasize our unwavering commitment to our student artists. The Student Art Show will be back on the BRAF calendar next year.  

 

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this transitional period and we look forward to continuing and growing our support for the region's many talented young artists.
