Spruce Mountain takes down Boothbay

The Spruce Mountain Phoenix field hockey team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 win over Boothbay Region on Perkins Field, BRHS, on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
The Phoenix scored goals in the first, third and fourth quarters. Maddie Grimaldi scored the first of her two goals with 9:20 left in the first quarter. Her second was with 8:47 left to play in the game. Also scoring for Spruce Mountain was Ava Davis.
The Seahawks had 10 penalty corners while the Phoenix had five.
Boothbay fell to 0-2 on the season and will travel to Winthrop on Monday, Sept. 16 for a 4 p.m. game.
