Shop local this season with Chamber Checks
“It's all about buying local. Promoting local business.”
That's how Michelle Davis, visitor and member relations coordinator at the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce, describes the new “Chamber Checks” program.
Chamber Checks are gift certificates that can be used at a variety of local businesses instead of just one. Anyone can purchase a check from the chamber on Townsend Avenue. The checks come in $10 and $25 increments, and are valid at any participating chamber member’s establishment. A list of places they can be used is online and comes with every check issued.
“It goes farther than a regular gift certificate, because it can be used more places,” Davis said. “They make great gifts and it keeps the money in the local economy.”
Current businesses participating in the Chamber Check program include: A Silver Lining, Andrews’ Harborside, Bayberry House Bed and Breakfast, Boothbay Harbor Framers, Boothbay Region Greenhouses, Carousel Music Theater, Coco Vivo, Crow Point Yoga, Downeast Candies, Freedom Auto Care, Gabriel's Jewelry Studio, Harborfield’s on the Shore, Harbor-Tech Solutions, Hawke Motors, Janson's Clothing, Jo-Ann's For the Luv of It, Massage Therapy with Rick Gilde, Newagen Seaside Inn, Ocean Point Studio, Pier One Pizza, Red Cloak Haunted History Tours, Rocktide Inn, Sea Glass Spa, T & D Variety, Topside Inn, Wanser's Natural Market, West Harbor Recreation, and Yoga Firm Studio.
Chamber members not currently enrolled in the program can join for free.
