The award celebrates businesses that have received great traveler reviews from travelers/diners around the globe on Tripadvisor over the last 12 months. As challenging as the past year was, Shannon’s Unshelled stood out by consistently delivering positive experiences to travelers/diners.

About Shannon’s Unshelled

“I was working at a local restaurant during the summer of 2013, when my father came in to pay me his weekly visit and to have dinner,” said owner Shannon Schmelzer. “He looked at me and asked “Where can you buy a good lobster roll in Boothbay Harbor? And so, Shannon’s Unshelled was born!

Our goal, then and now, is to make the best lobster roll we can. We use a whole locally caught, fresh unshelled Maine lobster, served on a perfectly grilled buttered bun with drawn garlic sea-salted butter. Over the past nine years, our menu and little shack have grown - but our dedication to quality and supporting our local fishing community remains unchanged.
