Shakespeare and ‘Clue’ to take center stage

Mon, 04/29/2019 - 5:30pm
The footlights will be shining on the stage in the Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) auditorium May 1 for a one-act version of  Shakespeare's “A Midsummer Night's Dream” at 6 p.m.

The performing arts class will present the tale set in Athens where love, marriage, fairies, and magic abounds. The cast: Brady Harmon, Maren Whitney, Larisa Greenleaf, Cass Hicks, Vincent Salzwedel, Hannah Cola, Lilley Harris, Courtney Leckie-Usinger and Ashley Ames.

And that’s not all!  The BRHS drama department's spring play this year is "Clue" - Yes, it’s based on the board game - Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18. If it’s anything like the 1985 film version that starred Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Eileen Brennan, Lesley Ann Warren, Martin Mull and ... what a cast! ... Anyway, this show should be hysterical! And, who doesn’t love playing Clue?

The BRHS cast has the lead, Mr. Wadsworth,  played by BRHS Alumnus, Garrett Carter.  And the role of Mrs. Peacock will find director Mary Miller on stage.  The cast will also include 7th and 8th grade drama club members in roles on and off stage. This will be a don’t miss production. Stay tuned for more details!

Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if Mr. Body was actually in the audience the whole time ...
