September sunrise

Take a different route to work.

That’s one of the tips offered by photographers looking for inspiration for their work. And it worked this morning, Sept. 24.

Just after 7 a.m., after veering from my usual route to get to the office, the orange glow caught my eyes. Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, in itself a visual treat, was ready for the taking … of my camera lens.

The east-rising sun is sometimes spectacular in the ninth month.

Heading down the avenue to the office at 97 Townsend, I decided to hold off firing up my laptop and went toward the sun to check out the glow on the western side of the harbor. A white-hulled lobster boat with a dark cloud behind it was the focal point of my next “click.”

Returning to the office, I saw another photographer stopped to capture the light.

I love September.
