Seahawk senior AJ Crocker took sixth place among 104 male runners in the Medomak Panther 2-miler cross country race Saturday, Aug. 29 in Waldoboro.

Crocker’s time was 11:15.42. The winning time was by Camden Hills Regional High School’s Noah Seigh, a junior, who ran the course in 10:47.47. According to coach Nick Scott, Crocker “Clipped 14 seconds off his previous best on the course.”

Other BRHS/WMHS male runners included: sophomore Louie Caidoc, 16th, 12:07.17; junior Alex Ross, 39th, 13:11.81; sophomore John Cooper, 44th, 13:40.32; junior Ben Gapski, 59th, 14:07.42; sophomore Miles Hyson, 70th, 14:34.78; sophomore Brady Baldwin, 78th, 14:47.39; freshman James Barter, 92nd, 16:30.37; junior Caleb Bates, 99th, 18:07.24; and junior Liam Scott, 104th, 24:30.09.

Camden won the boys meet, Brunswick took second, Lincoln Academy third, and Boothbay/Wiscasset finished fourth. Runners from Lewiston, Medomak and Oceanside high school also competed.

Top female runner for BRHS/WMHS was sophomore Maggie McCarthy, who finished 17th among 66 runners. Her time was 15:10.43. Overall winner of the girls’ race was former BRHS runner, Karen Higgins of Lincoln Academy, with a time of 11:41.03.

McCarthy “Ran a crazy 1 minute and 58 seconds faster than she did on this same course last year,” said Scott.

Other female Boothbay/Wiscasset runners competing were: freshman Emma Scott, 43rd, 16:55.11 and sophomore Audrey Robinson, 45th, 17:01.20.

Brunswick won the girls meet. Boothbay/Wiscasset did not finish in the standings due to the lack of runners.
