Seahawks trample competition at Lisbon race

Boys take first, girls take second

The Seahawks’ cross-country teams raced to an incredible first place for the boys and a close second for the girls at Lisbon Oct. 5. Sisters Faith and Glory Blethen kept up their overall first and second place arrangement with times of 20:44 and 22:02 respectively.

Grace Campbell and Zada Smith were the next Seahawks to cross the finish line placing 15th and 16th respectively with times of 26:01 and 26:21. Maria West and Lily Yeaton placed 18th and 19th with times of 26:44 and 26:45.

The girls took second place as a team, edged out of a first place by Monmouth Academy by eight points.

The boys took first from Lisbon High School by only five points. Will Perkins continued to shine at the front of the flock for the boys placing third overall with a time of 18:44. Graham Harris followed in fourth place with a time of 18:50. Fox Elder, sixth, 19:14; Mason Erhard, seventh, 19:23; Ryan Russell, 17th, 20:34; Nathan Chatterton, 22nd, 21:00; Quinn Ranta, 25th, 21:33; Will LaBrecque, 29th, 22:16; Muhammad Shahzar Khalique, 36th, 24:53;Gavin Carlson, 41st, 26:44; Dylan Leeman, 44th, 34:45; and Phongpak Aelang, 46th, 37:14.

Seahawks cross country competes next in Augusta at the MVC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 13.
