The Seahawks varsity soccer team made history this year by making it to the playoffs. Though they fought hard, the game ended with a 7-0 loss to Waynflete on Friday, Oct. 23.

“I thought the girls played hard, we kept it close in the first half but they eventually overpowered us in the second,” Coach Ben Powell said. “They are one of the best teams in Class C and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the championship.

“I was happy with how hard we fought and that we stayed positive throughout the whole game. Jackie (McLoon) played phenomenally in goal and made a few unreal saves. I'm excited for next year as we are bringing back almost our entire team. Next year our goal will be to win a playoff game.”

Two players were named to the 2015 MVC All Conference Honorable Mention team: Reagan Cola and Ella Spear. The teams are voted on by all of the Mountain Valley Conference coaches.
