Seahawks down Telstar, Mountain Valley, lose to Hall-Dale and Winthrop
After losing their first four games, the Boothbay Region High School field hockey team won their next two to improve to 2-4 on the season.
Izzy Andreason and senior tri-captain Magen Burge each scored two goals as the Seahawks improved to 2-4 on the season with a 4-0 win over the Telstar Rebels in Bethel Friday, Sept. 27.
Boothbay dominated the game as Telstar didn’t get off a shot against the Seahawks’ defense.
Andreason’s goals and one of Burge’s goals came in the first half as the Seahawks led at halftime, 3-0.
Boothbay’s first win came at home with a 2-0 shutout over Mountain Valley on Sept. 21.
The Seahawks hit the road after their first home game (a loss to Spruce Mountain Sept. 11) and were shut out both games. Winthrop, the top seed in Class C South, won 8-0, and fourth-seeded Hall-Dale defeated Boothbay 6-0.
The Seahawks were scheduled to travel to Dirigo on Sept. 30 and host Lisbon on Oct. 2.
