Seahawks dominate Greyhounds, 52-19
The Boothbay Region High School girls basketball team won its first game of the season (1-1), easily defeating the Lisbon Greyhounds (0-2), 52-19, at Porter Memorial Gymnasium, BRHS on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
After a low-scoring first quarter by both teams, Boothbay broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring Lisbon, 19-1, to take a 23-3 lead into halftime.
Boothbay scored in double figures in the third and fourth quarters while the Greyhounds only managed double figures in the fourth quarter.
Senior Bella Orr led Boothbay with 13 points (three 3-pointers), followed by junior Tatum French with 11, and senior Anna Gosselin with eight. Also scoring were senior Maddie Orchard with five, freshmen Arabella Hodgdon and Addie Barter with four points each, junior Abby Orchard with three, senior Ivory Cody with two and junior Sophie White with one.
Leading scorer for Lisbon was freshman Hannah Perron with nine points, followed by sophomore Elizabeth Ferero with five.
The Seahawks are scheduled to travel to Sacopee Valley on Friday, Dec. 13 for a 5 p.m. game. Their next home game is on Monday, Dec. 16 against Hall-Dale at 6 p.m.
