Seahawks crush Cobras

BRHS advances to playoffs

The Boothbay Region High School baseball team finished its regular season with a 14-9 win at Carrabec May 30. The game left the Seahawks with a 6-9 record and 10th place rank in Class C’s southern division.

They are expected to move on to the tournament preliminary round June 6, according to BRHS Athletic Director Allan Crocker. Their opponent has not yet been announced.

Carrabec opened the first inning with a single run, but the lead did not last long. In the second inning, BRHS responded with four runs of its own. The Cobras came short on catching up with another two.

The Seahawks gained a solid lead in the fourth inning with four more runs. They scored another two in the sixth and four in the seventh. Carrabec scored four in the sixth and two in the seventh.

The entire Seahawk team contributed to the win, with every player getting a run, hit, RBI. Overall, they had nine RBI and 12 hits.

Gryffin Kristan led the offense with two runs, three hits and two RBI. Sam Markowitz, Maddox Cusumano, Liam Jacobs, Luke Morley, and Henry Putnam each had two runs. Jacobs and Morley each had two RBI.

On the mound, Jacobs pitched four strikeouts, Harkins had two and Aidric Canada had one. Combined, they had three walks and seven earned runs.
