Seahawks cheer on their cheerleaders

The Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) cheerleading team celebrated their season's accomplishments this week. Team members and family gathered at the high school for an awards night and dinner Feb 26.
“They really are like a family,” said coach Michele Barter about the team. “They just got along and they worked through every aspect. When things were tough, they encouraged each other, and the spirit was there. I think the whole school felt the spirit as well within the team. And that's what a big part of cheerleading is about is that spirit and sportsmanship and bringing that all out and being a part of it.”
Barter recognized the following athletes:
Seniors Bailey Lewis and Skyla Carrier; juniors Sarah Harris and captain Maddie Andreasen; sophomores Olivia Rittall, Gabby Crowell and captain Titan Lewis. Barter also gave freshmen Maya Jacobs, Ariyah Green, Brianna Campbell, Abigail Babineau and Izzy Andreasen their varsity letters.
Barter also presented Brianna Campbell with the Most Improved Award, Sarah Harris with the Coach’s Award and Titan Lewis with the Most Valuable Cheerleader Award.
In addtion, the Mountain Valley Conference announced their all-star teams this week, including three BRHS cheerleaders who received plaques at the ceremony. Maddie Andreasen was named a first-team all-star, Titan Lewis was named a second-team all-star, and Bailey Lewis was honored as an academic all-star.
