Seahawk boys lose to Mt. Abram
After back-to-back games this weekend, the Boothbay boys’ stand 2-2 in the 2024-25 schoolboy high school basketball season. The Seahawks hosted contests against unbeaten Mt. Abram on Saturday and winless Sacopee Valley on Friday. The Seahawks scored a come-from-behind victory over Sacopee Valley, 56-53, and lost to Mt. Abram, 69-42.
Boothbay continued its spirited play Saturday afternoon against Mt. Abram leading 14-13 late in the first quarter. But the Roadrunners closed the half on an 18-4 run enroute to their third victory.
Seahawks Head Coach Dan Hallinan was impressed with his team’s early grit, but the Mt. Abram team is an athletic, talented and well-coached. “We allowed the game to get a little too big for us and we imploded,” he said. “We will learn from this, and I believe when we execute we can hang with them.”
Against Mt. Abram, French was the team’s leading scorer with 17. Other Seahawk scorers were Simeon Bates, 8; Maddox Cusumano, 6, Les White, 3; Ethan Clark, 3; and Lysander Lefevre had 2.
Boothbay travels to Farmingdale Tuesday, Dec. 17 to play Hall-Dale.
