Seafood, sweaters, pepper jelly at Boothbay Farmers Market

    Seafood and pepper jelly were among the offerings at the Boothbay Farmers Market on Thursday, July 18.

    Tom and Tracy Penneman of Pemaquid Lobster and Seafood of New Harbor have been market members since 2014. The couple combines fresh Gulf of Maine seafood with 25 different seafood products from crabcakes to salmon salad.

    “We have our own commercial kitchen in New Harbor,” said Tom Penneman. The couple travels to six farmers  markets from Bath to Belfast during the summer. “We are limited to Gulf of Maine seafood,” he said. Visit pemaquidlobster.com

    Sandra Dwight-Barris operates Grey Goose Gourmet from her home in Wayne. Dwight-Barris features 20 varieties of pepper jelly made from locally grown products except her mango flavor. Visit graygoosegourmet.com

    “It is my passion,” she said. She uses recipes her mother developed. “I love the festivals and farmers markets,” she said. She has 15 varieties available for sale from her website. “I ship for free,” she added.

    Nanne Kennedy exhibited her sweaters made from  spun and “seawater” sun dried dyed yarns from her sheep.

    “You can watch me work my dogs,” said Kennedy who has open house events at her farm at 45 Hopkins Road in Washington. Visit getwool.com

    Alina Blakesley of Boothbay Harbor played the accordion and sang from the bandstand.
