The School Street Band will rock the Boothbay Playhouse Nov. 4
Concert to benefit Boothbay Region Health Center

A local favorite in the region, The School Street Band which hails from Augusta, will rock the Boothbay Playhouse, Saturday, Nov. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. The performance is part of the Fall Starlight Music Series to benefit the Boothbay Region Health Center, which provides healthcare to one and all, regardless of income, to the Boothbay region.
The School Street Band has played throughout the state of Maine for the past 26 years. Blending a mixture of classic rock, pop rock, rhythm and blues, as well as country, the band has been able to provide diverse audiences with entertaining music for their dancing and listening pleasure.
The group consists of four primary members: Bruce Cameron, vocals, acoustic guitar. Derek Gannett, vocals, drums, acoustic guitar, and harmonica. Tim Leighton, lead guitar, vocals. Greg Lindholm, bass guitar, and other various guests, including (Laura Hudson), Marcia Gallagher (one of the original members of School Street), Lefty, the "sax man," David Thibodeau and Jeff Farnsworth.
The School Street Band has played for many community events such as Old Hallowell Days, The Augusta Waterfront Concert Series, Old Bristol Days, Damariscotta Fireworks, Belgrade Fireworks, Union Fair, and The Yarmouth Clamfest. In every case they have had great response from young and old alike. They have also provided entertainment for dozens of receptions, conferences and nightclubs. Their experience has provided them with a unique ability to understand what their audiences are looking for and to deliver the quality of musicianship that can be appreciated by all.
