School questions should be asked and answered
Dear Editor:
Are sending towns willing to pay more than the state tuition rate to send their students to BRHS? Our school board and trustees should be asking that simple and straightforward question this week as tuition agreements come up for renewal.
As of April 1, 2025, there are currently 110 students from Boothbay (74) and Boothbay Harbor (36) at BRHS. The remaining 66 students all come from other surrounding towns in the area.
If the other towns are willing to pay more, then taxpayers of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor might be more willing and able to spend millions of dollars on renovations that greatly benefit these other towns and their students.
I will make every effort to make sure this question and more are asked and answered if I am elected to the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor CSD school board.
