Scared straight?

Dear Editor:

It seems you can’t drive anywhere this summer without being held up by a lane closure for bucket trucks and utility work.

Could the upcoming ballot Question 3, to replace CMP and Versant with consumer-owned Pine Tree Power, have motivated the Spanish corporation-owned and the Canadian-owned utilities that currently underserve and overcharge us to make long-overdue repairs to our ageing electricity grid?

Consider the benefits of keeping our dollars here in Maine, reinvested in power transmission upgrades, when we pay our future electric bills. Please vote No on Question 1 (CMP and Versant’s $28,300,000.00 “citizen initiative”) and Yes on Question 3.
