Santa, Mrs. Claus and crew come ashore!

Dozens of children and adults were excited to see Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and a handful of elves arrive at the Boothbay Harbor town dock on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4 as they stepped off the excursion boat Novelty, which picked up the North Pole group. The Boothbay Lights event was delayed a day as rain fell on Saturday.

As Santa and crew made their way into Waterfront Park off Commercial Street, Mr. and Mrs. Claus talked with the excited children before the group moved across the park to the Pier One Pot Buoy tree for a sit down session with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. A long line of children and parents had already gathered to see the Clauses. Santa took Christmas gift requests and Mrs. Claus was her cheery self and handed out candy canes to all.

Prior to the big arrival, the nearby Fisherman’s Wharf parking lot featured several tables offering food, hot chocolate and coffee, information and more by nonprofits, school groups and others. Several holiday characters and a #Save Maine Lobster character were on hand to add to the festive gathering.
