Brunswick resident and Boothbay native Ryan Leighton will recount his 2014 adventures on a restored whaling ship’s sail along the New England coast in the next Chats with Champions program at Skidompha Library on March 17 at 10 a.m. The program will be held in the Library’s Porter Meeting Hall, 184 Main Street, Damariscotta.

Leighton has worked as a journalist for the past three years and was selected from nearly 100 applicants by Mystic Seaport to “stowaway” on an 1841 whaling ship, the Charles W. Morgan. Selected to document and share his daily experiences through a blog and social media, Leighton was engaged in all the aspects of sailing the whaleship, built in 1841.
