Russell V. Grant, 80, died December 22 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. Russ had resided in Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta.

He was born March 6, 1933 in Woolwich to Sidney and Amy Barter Grant. He attended schools on Barters Island, Boothbay

Russ worked as an auto mechanic for 37 years at Frizzell’s Chevrolet  in Boothbay Harbor. He enjoyed playing guitar with “The Amigos,” at the VFW dances for many years. 

He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Arlene Grant,  a brother, Kenneth Grant, a stepson, William Pierce and by a stepdaughter, Gwendolyn Moulton.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Edith Hunt Grant of Boothbay; stepsons, Richard Lane of Rockport and Stephen Lane of Waldoboro; stepdaughter, Brenda Gould of Appleton; brother, Clayton Grant of Edgecomb; and sister, Evelyn Hyson of Wiscasset.

A graveside service to celebrate Russell’s life will held in the spring to be announced. Should friends desire, contributions in Russell’s memory may be made to National Parkinson’s Foundation, Inc., 200 SE 1^st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
