The Reverend Wesley A. Smith at Wilson Chapel
The Reverend Wesley A. Smith will lead the service at the Wilson Memorial Chapel on Ocean Point this Sunday, July 6. The service is at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.
Reverend Smith is a native of Burnt Hills, N.Y. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies and social science from Barrington College, Barrington, R.I., in 1973, where he was inducted into Who's Who In American Colleges and Universities. He earned his master’s degree in divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, Mass., in 1976.
Smith completed many credit hours toward a doctorate of Ministry degree in not-for-profit administration at Trinity Seminary in Newburg, Ind. He was ordained June 20, 1976, at Burnt Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Smith has served churches in Averill Park and Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; and in Westerly and Cranston, R.I. He is currently serving as Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Hamilton, N.Y., and is also serving as president of Hamilton Rotary.
Smith is married to Joyce Halliday Smith, a fine artist. They have two daughters and five grandchildren who reside in Colorado. Rev. and Mrs. Smith enjoy walking their two retrievers along the trails of Colgate University.
