Dear Editor:

When asked by my friends from away, knowing that I now live in Maine, "but what do you do in the winter in Boothbay Harbor?" I usually tell them that one of the many joys of living here is the year round presence and success of "the best little movie house in Maine." Our non-profit community theater has been carefully revived through the efforts of volunteers, donors, and the steerage of Helen and Hamilton Meserve. 

We who live here year round have been treated to first-run and independent films, classics, and an art series, often with a knowledgeable speaker, often with refreshments. The recent showing of the magnificent Vermeer exhibit brought a full house on a Friday afternoon! 

To everyone who has had a part in making this theater possible, I send my sincere thanks, and gratitude.
