Dear Editor:

In this day and age of big box stores pushing small stores to the wayside, I would like to give my great thanks to Merritt Grover's family and employees. Merritt's grandfather Nate, I believe, started Grover's Hardware and years later it was taken over by Robert and Barbara, Merritt's father and mother. Now Merritt has been at the helm for some number of years. These people have tirelessly served this community for 70 years! Through thick and thin, this family of Grover's Hardware have helped keep the community spirit alive and well in downtown Boothbay Harbor.

I thank God that small town America is still alive and well here in my hometown the most beautiful place on earth as far as I am concerned. Great job Keep up the good work, and a special thanks to Merritt for all the help through the years!
