Pottle Realty Group has merged with William Raveis, the eighth largest realty brokerage in the nation.

President and owner of William Raveis in Northern New England, John Biondolillo, said “It’s a great merger. The Pottle Realty Group is extremely well-known and respected in the area. Clayton and Cindy Pottle are outstanding people and have been pillars of the community for years. We’re proud to be associated with them.”

Pottle Realty Group was founded more than 30 years ago and has operated throughout the Boothbay region ever since. The company has two distinct arms: real estate brokerage and rental properties.

“We’ve been thinking of merging or selling for a while,” said Clayton Pottle. “And I’ve been talking to John for a couple of years. It’s the perfect fit. They’re the largest realtor in New England and most of our buyers come out of New England. For sellers, it’ll be a huge plus. William Raveis is second to none when it comes to marketing. Plus, we’ll be tapping into a much larger market thanks to the William Raveis name, especially in Connecticut and Massachusetts.”

Said Biondolillo, “We do have access to the larger market but it’s still going to be local people making local decisions: Clayton, Cindy, and their agents are the ones on the ground with the knowledge and experience. But now their customers will be getting the same great service with access to the best marketing technology and network in the business.”

As a sign of the revitalized energy associated with the merger, two new agents have been hired: Larry Barnes, a third-generation realtor who grew up locally, and Guy Marshall, who recently moved here from Seacoast New Hampshire. “We’re selective about who we hire and what we do,” said Biondolillo. “We don’t want to be the biggest, but we do want to be the best.”

Clayton and Cindy Pottle will still work in the brokerage arm and still own the rental side of the company, which will continue to operate as Pottle Realty Group.
