Political signs

Mon, 11/14/2022 - 3:15pm

Dear Editor:

The election is over and the people have spoken. They don't want any more drama, lies and cognitive dissonance. Thank goodness.

But I want to address the constant destruction and theft of political signs. It is illegal and someday those who do it may get caught and fined. Wouldn't that be nice – a lesson hopefully learned. And the sick person who threw Cameron Reny and Holly Stover's signs on Back Narrows Road and Route 96 into the wetlands shame on you. Not only do you disrespect the democratic process, the candidates who work hard for us, you also litter a lovely piece of  the environment itself. I haven't figured out how to get down there and retrieve them yet without getting injured or hurting my already compromised back.

You didn't win in any way shape or form and it's a shame you have so much anger that you would do such a thing.

Opposition anger may be another reason some women who usually put signs in their yard wouldn't this year because they were afraid of their MAGA neighbors. How sad is that.

I was so proud of Cameron when she chastised those who made disparaging remarks about her opponent. That is the way it should be. Respecting one another and talking about issues not personalities, although there are some personalities we would all like to forget.
