Playing to the ignorant

Mon, 04/18/2022 - 3:00pm

Dear Editor:

Well, this past week we learned Ol’ Joe has finally saved us from ghosts that carry guns, or was it guns that kill ghosts? Either way it is ridiculous theater to pretend he actually wants to do something about crime. “Two blasts.” Biden just wants to erode the rights of lawful citizens, so he must scare the willfully ignorant into believing that kit guns are a problem. Of course, he had to attack so called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity magazines” at the same time even though those are not a significant factor in violent crime. Again, he plays to those who chose to remain ignorant.

In the meantime, we learn that while two Iranians who stood accused of infiltrating the Secret Service have been released, we still have Americans incarcerated on suspicion of being involved in an “insurrection” where no one brought guns. The Iranians were in possession of firearms, surveillance equipment and body armor with numerous police identity badges among other things. They pretended to be part of Homeland Security which last I checked was a crime unto itself, yet they walk out of jail. There seems to have been little follow up investigation into this matter while the investigation into the “insurrection” is now one of the most costly ones in recent history resulting in few convictions, most being misdemeanors. It is apparent that our Department of Justice has been weaponized for political purposes. Of course, that is just the start.
