Planning board approves 2 wharves and weirs applications
The Boothbay Planning Board approved two wharfs and weirs applications Feb. 21. Louis Frate of Juniper, Florida requested approval for repairing a fire-damaged pier on Jacobs Landing, off Back River Road. He was represented by Alex Rioux of Rioux and Sons Construction. Rioux will repair the 107-foot by 4-foot pier and do a future renovation of the 34-foot by 3-foot runway and 20-foot float.
The property is in a coastal residential and shoreland overlay zone.
Jonathan and Mariann Bigelow of Wilton, Connecticut received approval to make repairs on a pier, runway and float. The property is on Chandler Road, located off Isle of Springs Road, in a shoreland overlay zone. The Bigelows were represented by Environmentalist Specialist Ellie Oberink of Flycatcher, LLC of Yarmouth. The original structure was built of timber in 1997. The project consists of repairing a 6-foot by 40-foot pier with a renovation of the 3-foot by 35-foot runway and a 10-foot by 20-foot float with pilings.
Both applications still need selectboard approval.
The planning board meets next at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 in the conference room.
