On May 3 at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor, local Pastor Peter Panagore spoke about his near-death experience and inspiration for his new book “Heaven Is Beautiful.” The discussion veered from the metaphysical to the existential as Panagore detailed his multiple near-death experiences from a rock climbing trip gone awry to a major heart attack this past summer. His message of faith was underscored by what he said was a personal visit from God.

“I've seen the other side and can't wait to get back,” said Panagore to the roughly two dozen people who attended.
