The past revitalized in the present

The Boothbay Region Garden Club 2019 Home and Garden tour happening on July 19 includes noteworthy properties on either side of the harbor. On the east side, tour participants will walk to this thoroughly modern home that, though built in the 1800s, has been completely refreshed by the current owners who have opened up their living spaces by removing select walls and brightening others with a light color palette. The fireplace, floors and interior beams are all original, albeit slightly updated. Two floors will be open for the tour affording a second story view of Boothbay Harbor. Outdoors the grounds are also refreshing. An inviting walkway lined with a colorful selection of flowering plants and shrubs, leads you, like the yellow brick road, from the street to the front door beyond which is a bright and comfortable interior that hints at Southern hospitality. Walk through to the kitchen and enjoy a view of the inner harbor and the walking bridge that connects the east side to the west.

While visiting ask about the out building which apparently has an erstwhile history all its own.

Tickets for the BRGC Home and Garden Tour are now available and can be purchased in person from the Boothbay Harbor Chamber of Commerce located at 192 Townsend Ave, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538 or directly from Irene Gerny (633-5052) or Pat McMurry (633-7405). Tickets are $30 prepaid and $35 the day of the tour. Only cash or checks will be accepted for payment.
