Holy letters to the editor! We processed and printed over 40 letters to the editor this week and 30-plus last week — with most of them of the political bent. Passion is sure running high for candidates for office and local and state issues this year.

Having people engaged in the political process is good to see. Democracy at its best. However, to avoid letter-writing campaigns, we put an early deadline on political letters. No more political letters next week but if you want to take out an advertisement touting your favorite candidate(s) or to present your opinion on an issue, you can.

As of Thursday, Oct. 27, there are 12 days until Election Day. Get and stay informed. Talk with the local candidates and read up on their concerns.

And if you still don't know how to vote on the roundabout issue, we have published both the pro and con opinions, covered every public hearing and will wrap up the issue with interviews next week.

Get in line early Nov. 8. Something tells us there will be long lines — especially in Boothbay.
