Pam Cabañas: 'Friendship Inspired' exhibition at The Waldo
The Waldo Theatre is presenting works by Friendship artist Pam Cabañas, in the Bill and Joan Alfond Gallery, through Feb. 22.
“Friendship Inspired” is a collection of works by this well respected Maine artist born of her life in the fishing village of Friendship, Maine. Works range from large format paintings in acrylic and charcoal to small sgraffito on porcelain works emblematic of coastal Maine.
Of late, Pam has come to view her work as being rather “blunt.” No frills, not hidden in abstraction, just put down in imagery using basic mediums. From the interpretation of Maine coastal landscapes to the time worn stuff of life dotting the wharves and harbors of Friendship, the narrative emerges. Extending to self-reflection and immersion in her coastal life, that narrative hopefully serves to shape works that stand alone with no further words necessary.
The gallery is open before each event at the Waldo Theatre or by appointment. For more information, please email info@thewaldotheater.org or call 207-975-6490.
The Waldo Theatre is located at 916 Main St., in Waldoboro.
