We are fortunate to live in a community whose greatest asset is its hard-working, caring and compassionate citizens who understand the importance of community. They are owners of businesses or work in government agencies providing services to our year-round and seasonal community and visitors. Our newly appointed chief and local police officer, as well as our volunteer fire personnel, members of our public works department, water department, refuse department and those working in our town office are deserving of our appreciation, admiration and respect.

The Boothbay Harbor Selectman candidate who values this community and epitomizes that same genuine commitment to Boothbay Harbor’s continued success is Mark Osborn. Mark’s family’s rich history is intricately woven into the fabric of our community, and Mark has spent the past 20 years of his career demonstrating his unwavering commitment to Boothbay Harbor and its success as a working waterfront village. Mark understands the importance of celebrating the community and has developed a proven business model of success evident in all the local businesses he has owned, managed and operated. As the former owner of the Thistle Inn and manager of Linekin Bay Resort and now as one of the owners of the nationally recognized Topside Inn, he has worked tirelessly to generate long lasting jobs and encourage many to visit, work and ultimately live in this community. He is never too busy to mentor the newer local business owners and does all he can to promote Boothbay Harbor and its invaluable coastal resources. Mark embraces the importance of all stakeholders in the community who must work collaboratively and cooperatively to address the complex issues our community is facing from properly funding our local police department so that it can recruit and retain qualified law enforcement officers as well as working to provide affordable housing to enable those who have lived their entire life in Boothbay Harbor the opportunity to also raise their families here, as well as countless other complex issues.
