On Wednesday, Feb. 8, members of the Boothbay Region YMCA Y Arts performance group gave relatives and friends a preview of what they will be performing at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida Feb. 16-19.

The group of 23 performers, under the direction of Emily Mirabile, will sing and dance to a series of songs in the “Let’s Go to the Movies” theme. Some of the familiar songs include “9 to 5,” “Footloose,” “Singing in the Rain” and “Over the Rainbow.”

There will be solo and duo performances by several Y Arts members from fifth grade to 10th grade on Thursday, Feb. 16. The members will attend performer workshops in acting, dance and vocal classes, watch other groups’ performances, attend a showcase performance and be able to enjoy the rides and more at Universal.
