Downtown Damariscotta will once again host an “Open Air Market” on Main Street on Saturday, June 20. The Market will open at 11 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. Last week’s pilot was successful and brought in traffic from other surrounding communities. Local business owners felt the Market provided a ‘boost’ to the onset of summer, bringing people out in the fresh air.

According to Melissa Ellinwood, owner of The Accessories Shop, “Traffic was steady and busy all day. It was great seeing so many people out supporting our Main Street businesses.”

The “Open Air Market” takes place on the east side of Main street. Businesses will have their kiosks, tables or tents set up in parking spaces, allowing people to spread out and enjoy being outdoors shopping or eating at local restaurants. Face masks are strongly encouraged.
