Only two more fish chowder suppers
St. Philip’s Church on Hodge Street in Wiscasset continues to dish up rich, delicious haddock chowder for two more Mondays: August 12 and August 19. It’s hard to believe that the dreamy days of summer are fast coming to a close, which means St. Philip’s will soon be packing away chowder-making implements for another year.
So, before that happens, better make plans to sample the glorious chowder, or vegetarian vegetable soup, combined with the sumptuous salad bar, ratatouille, homemade dessert table, and choice of beverage.
In an effort to make the experience more pocketbook-friendly, Cathy Tyler, head chowder chef, decided this summer to reduce the charges for the meal (even though the expenses of the Suppers have gone up). An adult meal costs just $9.50; 12 and under, $4.75; while a child under 5 eats for free.
Sittings are being scheduled for every 15 minutes from 5:30 to 7 p.m. To make a reservation or to inquire about the suppers, call St. Philip’s office at 207-882-7814. Leave a message and a call-back number, and the reservation person will be back in touch.
Don’t miss it!
