Ocean Point Column: Weather, weddings and more
It seems impossible that we are almost half way through November; these last few weeks have flown by. The fall weather has been nothing short of spectacular, however, we are now hoping for some much needed precipitation here as many areas are experiencing drought conditions and wildfires.
Fall is a particularly popular season for weddings. Congratulations to Kelsey Bennett and Chris Guilmet who exchanged vows Oct. 19. Kelsey is the daughter of Jay and Maureen Bennett and granddaughter of Ed and Char Cassano.
Melanie and Danny Rodden also exchanged vows on Oct. 26. Melanie is the daughter of Jeff and Barb Slayton and the granddaughter of Jean and Phil Slayton. Congratulations, best wishes and a lifetime of happiness to both couples.
Congratulations to Ciara Rush on her outstanding performance in her school’s production of "Pride and Prejudice" last week. If you are familiar with Jane Austen’s novel, Ciara effortlessly portrayed the character Mary Bennett. Well-done Ciara!
Thank you to all of our veterans both past and present for their service to our country. One activity I especially enjoyed this past summer was driving along and seeing the veterans pictures proudly displayed on the poles. What a wonderful way to honor these brave men and women.
So many have shared their amazing photos on All Things Ocean Point this fall. Those of us who cannot be there in the off-season really appreciate your effort in keeping us connected, thank you.
With the holiday season fast approaching you may be searching for some gift ideas for that special Ocean Pointer or for those who enjoy Ocean Point.
Our Ocean Point store has some great apparel (hats, shirts, tee shirts) and the beautiful print by Don Demers both for purchase at oceanpointcolonytrust.org
You might also consider Sue Clark’s historical books on Ocean Point, “Past Images” and “Past Collections.” Sue can be reached at latitude43designs@hotmail.com
Jean Larkin’s giclee print of 3 trees is also a great gift idea as well. Jean can be reached a gblarkin27@gmail.com.
