Oak Hill nips Boothbay
Alainna Prozzo scored a goal with 11 minutes to play in the fourth quarter and the Oak Hill Raiders held off the visiting Boothbay Region Seahawks to win their first game of the season, 1-0, in Wales Friday, Sept. 6.
The Seahawks had chances to score in the game, with 15 penalty corners, nine in the second half, but couldn’t put the ball in the cage. On one of the penalty corners, a shot by senior Magen Burge in the fourth quarter found the back of the cage but it was waved off after it was ruled that the ball hadn’t left the scoring arc.
The Raiders had nine penalty corners and their goalie, Ella Martin, made six saves. Boothbay goalie Ivory Cody had two saves.
Boothbay’s next game is at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at home vs. Spruce Mountain.
