News and notes from the Community Center
When the Center first opened, some of the regulars expressed a desire to help with the financial burden of keeping the place open. The outgrowth of that desire is the charming Boutique — a venue for the sale of items made by people in the community for the benefit of the Community Center. Regular shoppers stop by from time-to-time to see what new and fun things are available. Just in time for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Graduation, there are quilted table toppers; Community Center hats; journals and address books designed and made by the Whittens; crocheted face cloths; A Maine cottage quilt; crocheted throws; nite lites made from glass insulators; and quilted smalls including potholders, tissue holders, wine coasters, and credit card purses. Prices in The Boutique range from $2 to $125. All proceeds go to the Community Center.
