News and notes from the Community Center
On Monday, March 30, Connie Netherton came in search of a knee brace for a meniscus tear. The Community Center had just received a brand new one, so we were able to provide it to Connie, who was so grateful that she wrote the following thank you note to add to our News and Notes this week: “Many thanks to the Boothbay Region Community Center and their program of providing durable medical equipment. What an invaluable gift to our area. Their inventory includes a wide range of necessary items. A volunteer, Mary, who assisted me, diligently searched through their knee braces and found one to provide stability while my knee heals from an injury. It is medical grade, a real find, and much appreciated. There is no charge for their items— they offer many different kinds of medical devices. If you need medical equipment, do check them out.”The Community Center wants to extend our gratitude to all the donors who make this program possible. We could not do it without the generosity of this wonderful community.
Bethany will hold another session at the Community Center on Tuesday, April 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. During this time, she will be available to assist anyone interested in learning how to use a new app or device, provide advice on upgrading technology, clarify phone settings, and offer a basic introduction to platforms like Facebook and email. Please note that she is not a hardware technician and cannot fix broken phones, computers, iPads, or other devices.
Healing Hearts is a support group that meets at the Community Center on the first Friday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. It helps members cope with loss or any other life struggles. You don’t have to go through painful experiences alone.
