News and notes from the Community Center
I can’t believe how quickly 2025 is flying by! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and as always, the Community Center will be hosting its iconic Cookie Walk on Friday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come in and fill a box with a variety of cookies and baked goods, generously donated by our friends. A suggested donation of $10 is greatly appreciated, and whatever we raise will go to support our work here at the Community Center.
The Visually Impaired Persons' group will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 1:15 p.m. in the Community Center/Boothbay Region Health Center located in the Meadow Mall across from Hannaford's, Boothbay Harbor.
This will be a discussion meeting where members share their personal stories and experiences adapting to various types of visual challenges. All are welcome, including caregivers, partners, and drivers. The members and speakers at these VIP meetings offer support and helpful information about the many resources available to the blind and visually impaired people of Maine.
Lucy Cressey, who runs our wonderful Genealogy program, will be hosting another session on Saturday, Feb/ 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come join her and get help discovering your family history!
