First, a great big thank you for all the volunteers, bakers, and consumers of our wonderful Cookie Walk on Valentine’s Day. We could not have done it without the help of so many cookies and goodies donated by our wonderful bakers.  Thank you so much. A few extra cookies are in our freezer, which will be shared with you all over the next few weeks.

Also, Lucy Cressey has been out of town, but she is ready to continue her Finding Your Family. As such, she will be available this coming Saturday, Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. here at The Community Center.

Don’t forget: This is Leap year! We have a Feb. 29. Happy Birthday to all of you who happen to have been born on this day ... and it’s very hard to believe that March 1 begins on Friday! Where is this year going to? I guess time really does fly! Soon, it’ll be spring! Punxsutawney Phil may be correct this year.

Tax time is upon us!  Time has come to make appointments.  If you would like help with your taxes, open season has started with Midcoast Ca$h. We’d be happy to make an appointment for you.  Midcoast Ca$h will be holding two days of free tax preparation, Saturday, March 2, and Tuesday, April 2, at the Boothbay Town Office, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appointments are a must If you’re interested, we will help you with the sign-up process at The Community Center.  Alternatively, you can make your own appointment by calling 207-295-6340 or 207-751-3756; or email midcoastcash@uwmcm.org, or visit the following website: www.eznetscheduler.com/calendar/midcoastmaineCASH. 

Puzzles, coffee, tea, goodies, and good camaraderie are always available all week long. Please save us from eating too many goodies ourselves by coming in and sharing our snacks. And we always welcome new faces and fresh ideas!
