News and notes from the Community Center
The Community Center wishes everyone a very Happy New Year. The schedule below is for the first full week of January. Somehow. it’s hard to believe that it’s January with the temperature in the 40s and rainy! However, rest assured, it will go down to the 30s with a yellow ball in the sky next week.
Now that January is upon us, perhaps it’s time to think about 1040s, W-2s, and gathering all the documents necessary to minimize payments to Uncle Sam. I know this seems like an early start, but I have been talking with the Community Resource Council (CRC) and MidCoast Ca$h. They will be holding two days for free preparation, Saturday, March 2, and Tuesday, April 2, at the Boothbay Town Office, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for those of you having annual earnings below $64,000. Sign up is a must for an appointment. If interested, we will walk you through the sign-up process at The Community Center beginning Jan. 16.
Jean Larkin has asked me to tell you that she will begin a new writing class this month for all of you aspiring folks who would like to learn to write better – a story (fact or fiction), a memoir, or anything that suits you, even if it’s just directions to get someplace. These writings are for personal use unless you want to publish. The only skill needed is a desire.
