Raffle: We have a beautiful live arborvitae tree, decorated with oodles of scratch tickets here at The Community Center. Raffle tickets cost $1 each or six for $5. Come join our raffle for chances to win all of the scratch tickets as well as the tree! The drawing for the winner will take place in mid-December.

We have a new box wrapped in Christmas paper outside our doorway for gently used clothes and coats. These donations will help friends and neighbors in need of warm clothing. Thank you for your help with this critical need for these folks.

The Community Center also has our own Christmas tree with many items in our Boutique. Each item is available at a “Make An Offer” price. There are some really cute Christmas items (stockings, Santas, etc.,) as well as decorative pieces, and functional items. Please come any day, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and make an offer!

We have a new game at The Community Center.  It’s called Rummikub. Come join the fun! Tidbit:  There are two Jokers in each game of Rummikub. Each Joker can represent any color and any number. Jokers can be used in groups and runs, and both Jokers can be used in a single group or run. Once a Joker is on the mat, players can replace it with a suitable tile from the mat or from their rack. (themahjongline.com/pages/how-to-play-rummikub) I’ll refresh your memory on some of the other rules and strategy in a near future column. Please come on Fridays from 12:30 to 2 p.m. to play or learn. Everyone is welcome. 

Unfortunately, there is no Finding Your Family this month. However, we will resume in the new year.

Friday, Dec. 15: Scrabble Noon-2 p.m.; Rummikub Noon-2 p.m. 

Puzzles, coffee, tea, goodies, and good camaraderie are always available all week long. Please save us from eating too many goodies ourselves by coming in and sharing our snacks. And we always welcome new faces and fresh ideas!
