News and Notes from the Community Center
On Saturday, Nov. 18, Lucy Cressey will be holding her Finding Your Family program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. here at The Community Center in the Meadow Mall. Have you ever been curious about your ancestors? Lucy can help you research. It’s quite amazing to discover your past.
We have a new game at The Community Center. It’s called Rummikub. Well, it’s not a new game, but it’s new to The Community Center. The other week I mentioned a little bit of history about the game. Next week, I’ll refresh your memory on some of the rules and strategy. Please come on Fridays from 12:30 to 2 p.m. to play or learn. Everyone is welcome.
And we are starting a new program here. It’s called QiGong. (prounounced “che-gong”) Judy Milinowski taught this course last summer at Barrett’s Park, and now she’s bringing it inside to us from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Tuesday. No need to sign up. Just come to experience meditation and movement.
In the Free Medical Equipment Room we have two chair-to-bed lifts if someone needs one.
While Thanksgiving is upon us, so is the coming of the Christmas holiday. We have a beautiful live tree which will be decorated with scratch tickets. Raffle tickets will be available for sale beginning this week to earn a chance on winning the scratch tickets and the tree!
NOTE: The Community Center will be closed for Thanksgiving and the day after to digest all your food. Have a wonderful long weekend!
