News and Notes from the Community Center
I was away when the winner of the Bucket ‘A Lobsters raffle took place on Sept. 1. The lucky winner was Kathleen Brophy of Groton, Massachusetts. Congratulations and thank you to all who entered the drawing to support The Community Center programs.
Here’s a new need … We are running low on sweets (cookies, crackers, chips, fresh baked goods, or anything in-between). These donations will continue to keep our volunteers and guests happy!
Looking for ideas: We would love to offer some new and different classes this fall. Would anyone like to teach a small exercise or creative class for an hour or so per week? We are open to all suggestions. Pat McKee, I’ve heard, will begin her dance class again in later September or early October. And Jean Larkin would love to teach a beginning art class to anyone who might be interested.
Don’t forget vegetable deliveries: On Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Food Pantry delivers beautiful, very fresh lettuces and veggies by the box full! Please bring a bag and help yourself! To whet your appetite, check out our Facebook page weekly to see a photo of our latest delivery. (www.facebook.com/boothbaycommunitycenter.)
Transportation needs for the community are increasing! We would love extra help volunteering to drive folks who do not have the ability to get to medical appointments, the grocery store, or personal care appointments. If you have a reliable car, up-to-date insurance, and a few extra hours once in a while, we’d love to have you help The Community Center with this critical need. Please call The Community Center if you would like to help us. 633-9876. Thank you in advance.
