News and Notes from the Community Center
Last call for a “Bucket ‘A Lobsters”: The blind drawing for a Bucket ‘A Lobsters will take place this Friday, Sept. 1 at The Community Center. Please submit your chances by the end of Thursday! Pandy and Shawn will be at the Farmer’s Market Thursday morning, and the wonderful volunteers will be at The Community Center all week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday to accept your contribution for a chance to win; $10 buys 1 ticket, $20 buys 3 tickets. Wouldn’t you like to buy a chance or three for 10 free lobsters, which are donated by Atlantic Edge fishermen? And we will ship your lobsters as needed to those of you from away.
Like the tide, our medical equipment supplies ebb and flow. At present, we are in critical need for wheelchairs and transfer chairs, especially. If you have any medical equipment that is no longer being used, please consider donating it to The Community Center. We try to supply everyone in need with the medical equipment they need. A big thank you in advance if you can help us.
Don’t forget vegetable deliveries: On Fridays during the summer, the Food Pantry delivers beautiful, very fresh lettuces and veggies by the box full. Please bring a bag and help yourself! To whet your appetite, check out our Facebook page weekly to see a photo of our latest delivery. (www.facebook.com/boothbaycommunitycenter.)
Transportation needs for the community are increasing! We would love extra help volunteering to drive folks who do not have the ability to get to medical appointments, the grocery store, or personal care appointments. If you have a reliable car, up-to-date insurance, and a few extra hours once in a while, we’d love to have you help The Community Center with this critical need. Please call The Community Center if you would like to help us. 633-9876. Thank you in advance.
