News and Notes from the Community Center
Well, the sun came out for a few days last week, and now we’re back into our fog. Ugh!
Knit One, Purl One. Or K1, P2, yo, K2tog, SSK. Do you know what those directions tell you? Well, join our knitting group if you’d like to knit or crochet on Monday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon for fiber arts and stimulating conversation. You can bring your own project, or we have a selection of yarns and needles for your use. We are experienced knitters and crocheters, but we will be happy to help you with a project. Just drop in. We’d love to meet you! There’s also coffee and cookies available.
Wow! We just finished our raffle for 10 free lobsters, and we have a wonderful winner - Patty Wrobel from Trevett! And now we are gearing up for our next raffle for another Bucket ‘A Lobsters; we will begin selling tickets in mid-July here at The Community Center, and then in August, we will sell more tickets as well at the Farmers Market at the Boothbay Common on Thursday mornings. The drawing for 10 free lobsters, donated by our local Atlantic Edge lobstermen, will be held on Sept. 1, just in time for your Labor Day feast.
On Fridays during the summer, the Food Pantry delivers to us beautiful fresh lettuce and other veggies. Please bring a bag and help yourself! To whet your appetite, check out our Facebook page to see the picture of our latest delivery. (www.facebook.com/boothbaycommunitycenter.)
