News and Notes from The Community Center

We had a wonderful time at the Spooktacular at the Railroad Village this past weekend and are especially proud of Jen Field and her daughter, Brianna, who designed the booth and manned it all day. Thanks, also to Tina and George for helping out.

Nov. 1 finds us back on track with our Friday evening game nights. All winter, we plan to be open on Fridays from 6 until 9 p.m. for those who would like to come for games, goodies, and companionship — a great night out in a safe, sober, very friendly place.

The Van Trip for November is on Thursday, the 7th. We will leave the Center at 10 a.m. for a trip to Bowdoin College Art Gallery and lunch at Applebees. Bring yourself and your lunch money — these trips are a blast! Sign-up is necessary, so call or come in to do so.

If you love us and want to help out — here is your opportunity. Once again, we will have a Thanksgiving Pie/Bake Sale. We need bakers and buyers. Please let us know if you plan to bring a pie or other baked item. The sale will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Also, during that day, we will be selling a huge collection of David Winter Cottages recently donated to us. So, you can buy your Thanksgiving dessert and a Christmas present or two. What an opportunity.

As you are getting out your winter clothes, think of us as we will be collecting Coats for Seniors again this year. We do this collaboratively with Spectrum Generations so that coats are made available to Seniors in Maine who may need them.

Clocks fall back on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 a.m.

Be sure to call 633-9876 if you have questions about our programs or if you need to borrow durable medical equipment or if you need a ride to the center. We are here for you.
